Vietnam has international airports at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Non-stop flights are available from Australia, Cambodia, China, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Macau, Qatar, Turkey, Dubai, U.S and India. However, most direct flights are served by flag carrier Vietnam Airlines while plenty of other long-haul flights are available with transits via Bangkok, Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Taipei.
Hue airport (HUI) is also classified as international, but currently (2015) has no international departures/arrivals.

It is the busiest airport in Vietnam with 32.5 million passengers in 2016 and 38.5 million passengers in 2018. It serves Ho Chi Minh City as well as the rest of southeastern Vietnam. As of April 2023, it had a total capacity of only 28 million passengers, which has caused constant congestion and sparked debate for expanding or building a new airport. The airport's IATA code, SGN, is derived from the city's former name of Saigon. In 2022, It was the 34th busiest airport in the world, and the second busiest in Southeast Asia.
Of the routes the airport offers, the domestic Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route is the busiest in Southeast Asia and the fifth busiest in the world, serving 10,253,530 customers in 2019.
Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi)

It is the second largest and busiest airport for passenger traffic, after Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It is currently the main airport serving Hanoi, replacing the role of Gia Lam Airport. The airport consists of two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 serves domestic flights, and the newly built Terminal 2 (inaugurated on 4 January 2015) serves all international flights to and from Hanoi. The airport is currently the main hub of the flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, travel carrier Vietravel Airlines, and budget carriers Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines and Vietjet Air.
The airport is located in Phu Minh Commune in Sóc Sơn District, about 35 kilometres (21 miles) northeast of downtown Hanoi, via the new Nhật Tân Bridge (also inaugurated on 4 January 2015).[2] It can also be reached by National Road 3, which connects it with the eastern suburbs of Hanoi. The airport served a total of 13 million passengers in 2013, despite having a capacity of only 9 million at the time. In 2018, the airport served 28 million passengers.
Of the routes the airport offers, the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route is the busiest in Southeast Asia and the sixth busiest in the world, serving 6,867,114 customers in 2018.
Da Nang International Airport (Da Nang)
Preffered for entry if you need to start your journey from central vietnam and cover either of south or north regions only.

Da Nang International Airport is the international airport serving the area of Central Vietnam, especially Da Nang, the largest city there. It is the third international airport in the country, besides Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City).
In addition to its civil aviation, the runway is shared with the Vietnamese People's Air Force, although military activities are now extremely limited. The airport served 5 million passengers in 2014, reaching that passenger count around six years sooner than expected. An expansion of the new terminal is currently considered to increase its capacity to 10 million passengers per annum by 2020. This airport handled 6,722,587 passengers in 2015, an increase of 34.7% compared with that of 2014.
This airport handled 11 million passengers in 2017, an increase of 24.1% compared to that of 2016. The airport has two separate terminals for international and domestic passengers with total passenger capacity of 11 million per annum as at 2018. The Hanoi-Danang and Ho Chi Minh City-Danang routes have respectively 319 and 250 weekly flights and are, in order, the second and third busiest air routes in Vietnam after the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh route (475 flights).
